Congratulations to our 2010 Honorees!

  

    Big Sister of the Year Rose Urich & her Little Sister Aliyah have been matched 3 years.  
    BBBS selected Rose as the 2010 Big Sister of the Year because she is the embodiment of a perfect Big: she has a cheerful, fun-loving personality and has shown her Little Sister Aliyah loyalty, consistency and devotion throughout their match. She’s a fun, consistent friend who has exposed Aliyah to many wonderful & varied experiences over the years from slumber parties to do “girly-things” such as painting their nails & fixing each other’s hair.  A couple of years ago, they even saved their money and went to the theme-park, Great America. Their most recent  adventures include chasing each other through the surf at the beach and going to Big Foot Days in Willow Creek.  
    
     Big Brother Jim Lahman has been awarded the title of 2010 Big Brother of the Year because of the dedication & sincere care he has offered his Little Brother, Nathan. Proud father of 2 grown daughters, Jim joined BBBSNC with an interest in being there for a youth in our community. Matched in November, 2008, their 2-year friendship has become one of genuine respect & full of fun & humor. They can often be found at Sequoia Park flying kites or model airplanes, at the movies on rainy days, or running about town just  enjoying one another’s company.  Nathan shared that “it’s great to have Jim as my Big Brother because he’s there for me when things are good and when they’re bad”.
