Activity Ideas
Just for Matches » Activity Ideas

Brainstorm with your Little a list of everything you both would like to try. If it is a list of things that are too expensive or too far away, consider what you could do that is similar but cheaper and closer to home. Or discuss what it would take to do those things and why they are not realistic.

Work on a project  together that involves planning and stages, such as building a bookcase or making a kinetic sculpture out of recycled items. Do a little each time you meet and it will give you both something to look forward to.

Volunteer  together. Pick something that you both are interested in and something that achieves a meaningful result. Talk to your case manager about some possibilities.

Earn money together and spend it on something outrageous. Collect all the recycling from your neighbors. Sell your photographs or paintings. Keep all your change in a big jar. Decide how you will spend the money together.

Visit the Calendar  for a list of upcoming BBBS, Northcoast Mentor Program, and youth-friendly community events.

Check out the Northcoast Journal's online calendar for a comprehensive list of community events.

Puruse the Humboldt Kid's Digest online for information on anything and everything related to youth in Humboldt County.

Attend a Big Support Meeting and swap numbers with another volunteer to coordinate group activities.
